J is a wheelchair user, wheelchair adapter and wheelchair builder. He builds or rebuilds chairs to last, not only making them suitable for now but also in the future as your needs change or increase. He advocates for the chair fitting the person rather than the person fitting the chair, which is vitally important in getting a chair that is comfortable, functional and durable so the person is able to spend long periods in their chair without discomfort and is able to do all the things they need to in it. He not only builds and customises/adapts wheelchairs, with his vast knowledge of wheelchairs and what is possible in terms of chairs, and because he keeps his finger on the pulse of innovation and also has extensive knowledge of the past, both mistakes and successes in wheelchair innovation, he can advise on the best chair to meet all of your needs, and then fine tune this to make it the perfect chair unique to you. Nothing is too much trouble. J has a background in engineering and a passion for getting disabled people 'out there', living with quality, functioning to the best of their ability, doing everything they want and need to and even getting them back into employment by means of getting the right equipment and using his knowledge of funding schemes such as Access to Work.

J has numerous complex conditions but he never lets this stop him. With his faithful assistance dog, a German Shepherd dog called Tak, by his side, and all the chairs he builds for himself and others, anything is possible.
